We appreciate your generous giving that enables us to continue to minister the good news of the gospel to the world. It is a wonderful privilege to share the message of God’s kingdom with others. Faith and Obedience:
By faith Abraham, being called, did obey, to go forth to the place that he was about to receive for an inheritance, and he went forth,-Heb 11:8 (YLT)
Abraham was called by God to leave a past idolatrous, sinful environment that surrounded his life. He obeyed and went out from his own country and followed God’s direction for the journey. He was fully persuaded that God had called and would indeed guide his every move. Putting his complete trust in an unseen God is identified in scriptures as “by faith Abraham.” Abraham’s full persuasion and trust in God moved him to “obedience” and his obedience was equal to action or works of righteousness. His acts or works of righteousness is what he did in alignment with God’s words.
Every person is called by God to “repent,” receive Jesus Christ as Savior, turn away from sin, leave the past life behind and begin a new journey with Him. This is identified in scriptures as “being born again.” When this genuinely occurs in a life, then obedience to the word of God will lead to action or works of righteousness. Faith and obedience will then produce fruit that reflects the new birth that has taken place within the heart of man.
Faith in God is not identified until obedience moves one to act on what is a full persuasion of the heart.
Today is a good day to decide; is this a day of static faith or is it a day of faith and obedience.
