Dear friends and partners:
We praise God for His faithfulness in fulfilling His word to us when we listen and obey it. He has given the church a commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel (good news) of His kingdom. We are so grateful that God has raised up partners like you that give your support as we obey that commission. Many lives are blessed because of you.
Time
Time is a currency that everyone has. God has made us stewards over our most irreplaceable possession-TIME. There is an ancient saying that is translated into English; “time and tide wait on no man.” In other words, no one can stop the onward march of time nor say to the tide, you must stop your ebb and flow. We can’t recall yesterday and we can’t predict the certainty of tomorrow. We must remain vigilant and ready to seize the opportunities that come our way every day. Smith Wigglesworth once said, “If you have to get ready when opportunity presents itself, then you are too late.”
In Ephesians 5:15-16 [AMP] the apostle Paul writes: 15. Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as unwise and witless, but as wise-sensible, intelligent people; 16. making the very most of the time-buying up each opportunity-because the days are evil.
Matthew 20:1-16 [KJV] presents the parable of the workers in the vineyard. In this passage of scripture, the parable presented highlights themes of labor, reward, and inclusion in God’s work. On three occasions at different time intervals of the day the master of the vineyard sought laborers and found them idling away time while the harvest stood ready to be gathered. We find the master accepting laborers even at a very late hour.
It is never too late to begin working in God’s “Vineyard.” God’s vineyard covers the whole earth and not every harvest can be reaped from the pulpit.
Perhaps your portion of God’s vineyard is in the office, on the jobsite, grocery store, gas station or some other setting.
Jesus said in Matthew 9:37-38 [KJV] “ the harvest is truly plenteous, but the laborers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send laborers into the harvest.”
May the Lord Jesus Christ always find us vigilant, redeeming the time, rejecting every hint of idleness and pursuing the glory of His great kingdom and may the God of all goodness bless you with His peace, presence, and power as we labor together in His great name.
